Mykonos – Falling in love with Aeolus’s island

Mykonos is an amazingly beautiful island and after that short visit we made there, during our cruise, we all loved it. Even after the drinks at little Venice, we had the idea of having a last walk in the labyrinth streets of the town because it was dark and we desired to see the town centre of Mykonos by night. We enjoyed the view of the lightened streets where the shops were inviting us to enjoy the view of their shimmering merchandise.

On the other side, the quieter neighborhoods which were darker than the commercial ones looked charming under the moonlight.

We were almost exhausted by the time we had to return to the ship. After embarkation we directed immediately to the buffet for dinner as we were starving! A huge variety of salads, appetizers and main dishes including pasta, beef, chicken and fish were at our disposal. Opposite the food buffet another one had been set with mouthwatering deserts such as tarts with strawberries and fresh cream, cakes and a pudding with hot chocolate sauce and of course various fresh fruits! The good thing was that, as in all the cruises, food was included in the price paid upon booking so we could eat as much as we desired!!! After dinner, we went to our cabins in order to have a bath and put on less casual clothes for our night excursions in the performance centre where a greek night was to be carried out. We watched dancers performing traditional greek dances. Continuously, the dancers invited the viewers to dance with them! We grasped the chance and jumped on the dance floor where we danced syrtaki and other dances from Greece.

The night ended at around 1:30 am and we went straight to bed because we had to wake up early on the next morning as we were sailing to Kusadasi, Turkey!
